Former Dodgers Owner Eyes TikTok Acquisition Amid Platform’s Regulatory Challenges

Billionaire Frank McCourt, former Los Angeles Dodgers owner, has emerged as a potential buyer for TikTok amid growing pressure on ByteDance to sell its U.S. operations. The development comes as TikTok faces a January 19 deadline to either sell or shut down its U.S. business, following recent legislation signed by President Biden.

McCourt, who also leads Project Liberty, a $500 million initiative focused on internet decentralization, sees TikTok’s acquisition as part of his broader vision to reshape social media control. However, ByteDance maintains that TikTok is not for sale and continues to challenge the legislation in court.
