Temu Under EU Investigation for Digital Services Act Compliance

The European Union has intensified its scrutiny of Temu, a Chinese ecommerce platform, regarding its compliance with the Digital Services Act (DSA). Following complaints from consumer protection groups, the EU is seeking details on how Temu prevents the sale of illegal goods and protects consumer safety.

Temu must provide information on its risk mitigation strategies by October 21. The DSA mandates that large platforms assess systemic risks to users and ensure transparency in their algorithms. Non-compliance could lead to fines of up to 6% of global annual revenue.

Temu’s representatives have stated their commitment to cooperation and compliance as they work to enhance consumer safety on their platform.
