This improvement will significantly save users time and clicks compared to the current method of viewing ratings by form factor. There are also updates on how to identify “deceptive or malicious apps.”
Today, Google Play does a great job of catering to various device sizes and provides corresponding app ratings for each device size. At this point, I believe that different channel providers and developers will come up with the idea of controlling reviews, but I hope everyone will still get on the train heading towards the right path.
User ratings, reviews and installs
Publishers may not attempt to manipulate the ranking of any application in Google Play. This includes but is not limited to using illegal means to increase product ratings, reviews, or the number of installs, such as obtaining reviews and ratings through deception or inducement, or inducing users to install other apps as the main function of the app.
Ratings and reviews are the benchmark for app quality, and users expect them to be relevant and authentic. Here are some best practices for responding to user reviews:
1. When replying, focus on the issues raised by users in comments; never ask users to give a higher rating.
2. Provide useful resources in your reply, such as the support team’s contact address or FAQ page.
Additionally, this isn’t the only recent change found in Google Play as Google continues to improve user experience. Because Google is committed to protecting user privacy and providing users with a safe and reliable environment. Apps that are deceptive or malicious, or that attempt to abuse or improperly use any network, device, or personal data are strictly prohibited.
