Google announced Wednesday a new YouTube ad policy, effective September 2024, limiting ad display for non-qualifying advertisers.
John Doe, Google’s Ad Policy Head, said, “This enhances ad quality and user experience. Qualified advertisers aren’t affected.”
The policy will be fully implemented by 2026, with criteria including user feedback and account maturity.
Analysts predict impacts on small advertisers. Jane Smith from the Advertising Association commented, “It may pose short-term challenges but benefits the ecosystem long-term.”
Google plans to provide guidance for advertisers adapting to the new policy.
