Facebook’s interactive ad tools enable brands to attract and engage users in innovative ways:
- Poll Ads: Design engaging poll questions to encourage users to express their opinions. In Poll Ads, you can interact with the audience using polls with two answer choices. Once you add a poll to your video ad via the Meta Ads Manager, it will be displayed on Facebook News Feed and Instagram Stories on mobile devices.
Steps to Create Interactive Facebook Ads

- Go to Ads Manager and click the + Create button in the top left.
- Choose a campaign objective that supports Poll Ads. Supported objectives include Awareness, Traffic, App Promotion, and Sales. Click Continue.
- Select your budget, audience, placements, and optimization. Note that polls will only show in the Facebook News Feed and Instagram Stories on mobile devices. If you choose advanced placements or manually add other placements, your video ad will be displayed in the selected placements without the poll. Click Next.
- In the Identity section, choose your Facebook Page and link your Instagram account (if applicable).
- In the Ad Setup section, choose Single Image or Video. You cannot add polls to ads using the Carousel format.
- In the Ad Creative section, click Add Media to select the video you want to use, then click Next.
- In the Select Media Aspect Ratio for Placements section, choose Original, then click Done.
- After the video uploads, select Edit Video from the Edit Media dropdown menu, then choose Poll from the Creative Tools.
- To create a poll:
- Add a question and two answer options in the Poll Setup. The question can be up to 80 characters, and each answer option can be up to 24 characters.
- When serving the ad in the Facebook News Feed, you can add URLs to the answers in the poll settings. Users will be directed to these URLs when they select an option. Ensure both options have URLs, which can be the same.
- Once the poll is created, click Save.
- Add the headline, description, call-to-action button, and any other text you want to include in the video ad.
- Add tracking information in the Tracking section (if applicable).
- When complete, click Publish to launch your Poll Ad campaign.
You can view how your ad will look in the Ad Preview section. The appearance of Poll Ads may vary depending on the device type.
After users vote, they will see the percentage of votes for each option. In Ads Manager, you can track the performance of your interactive ad, including reach, the number of users who participated in the poll, and a summary of poll results.
