Apple Mandates Developer Contact Details for EU Compliance by February 2025

Apple is requiring developers to provide real contact information due to the EU’s Digital Services Act. The law mandates verification and display of contact details for app distributors, treating developers as “traders.” This includes real addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses, which will be publicly visible on the App Store. The rule applies to all developers selling apps in the EU, not just EU-based ones. Only completely free apps without ads are exempt. Many independent developers are concerned about privacy implications. Compliance is mandatory by February 17, 2025, or apps will be removed from the EU App Store.
