1.Enabling Two-Factor Authentication
It is highly recommended that you, your agency, and your clients enable two-factor authentication (2FA). Two-factor authentication provides additional security to your account, preventing unauthorized access.
How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication?
Enable or Manage Two-Factor Authentication
- Click on your profile picture in the top right corner, then select “Settings & Privacy.”
- Click “Settings.”
- Click “Account Center,” then “Password and Security.”
- Click “Two-Factor Authentication,” then select the account you want to update.
- Choose the security verification method you want to add and follow the on-screen instructions.
When setting up two-factor authentication on Facebook, you need to choose one of three security verification methods:
- Tap a security key on a compatible device.
- Get login codes from a third-party authentication app.
- Receive SMS verification codes.
Once two-factor authentication is enabled, you will receive 10 backup login codes to use when your phone is not available. Learn how to set up backup codes.

2.Password Protection
Choose a unique and complex password for your account and keep it secure to prevent leakage. Ensure the password includes numbers, letters, and punctuation marks, and is at least six characters long. Avoid using the same password for other websites or apps to reduce the risk of account compromise.

3.Private Browsing and Logging Out
After using Facebook, make sure to log out and close your browser. This is especially important when using public computers or devices belonging to others. Do not check the “Remember Me” option to prevent the account from staying logged in after closing the browser.
4.Secure Email
Ensure the email address associated with your Facebook account is secure. Anyone who can access your email can potentially access your Facebook account. Therefore, set different and complex passwords for all your email accounts. This greatly reduces the risk of your account being compromised in the future.
5.Logging in from Official Channels
Always log in from legitimate Facebook pages (facebook.com domain). Do not click on unfamiliar links or run executable files (.exe). If you encounter any suspicious content, directly visit www.facebook.com to log in.
6.Running Antivirus Software
If your computer is infected with viruses or malware, promptly run antivirus software to clear it. These harmful programs can steal your account information or perform unauthorized actions. Regularly update your antivirus software and run full system scans to ensure your information is safe.
7.Avoid Using Purchased Accounts
Do not buy or use Facebook accounts sold by others. These accounts may have security risks, such as being controlled by hackers or having violations. Using these accounts can lead to your ad account being banned and negatively impact your brand image. Always use accounts that you have registered and maintained for ad placement and management.
By following the above recommendations, you can significantly enhance the security of your Facebook ad account and reduce the risk of fraud. Additionally, ensure that you, your team, and your clients regularly review and update security measures to address evolving security threats.
